Hi All,
Apologies for the late notice but, as with many great ideas, this has come up organically and spontaneously! Stitch n Bitch will take a break tomorrow at 10am, and instead the wom*n’s room will be being used for the first WOC meeting. If you are not attending, please make sure to leave the room free at this time for those who are attending. Here’s the message from Fei, one of the organisers:
Are you a wom*n who identifies as African, Asian, Pacific Islander, Aboriginal, Latin@, Arab, or multiracial? Do you seek a safe and supportive space as wom*n of ethnic minorities within the university? Come join the Wom*n of Color Collective’s first meeting at the Wom*n’s Room in Union House at 10am on Wednesday, 10 Oct 2012! We’ll be discussing goals and strategies for the collective to help promote, make visible, and support wom*n of diverse backgrounds in the education system and beyond. Can’t make the meeting, but interested in joining the collective? Email the wom*n’s officers to see how you can get involved!
Don’t worry if you can’t attend, this is only the beginning of what will hopefully a growing group and please feel free to get involved in future!
